Veteran Celebrates 100th Birthday​
To this day, this is easily one of my most favorite stories I've written yet. As my first profile for the Lincoln Journal Star, this story went viral on social media and honored a great man who only wanted a Runza burger for his 100th birthday.

TADA Theatre​
A month in, I was asked to write a preview for Ground Zero, the weekly arts and entertainment magazine at LJS. I enjoyed going back to write about a story I was a little more familiar with.
Mobile Foster Care Closet​
My first front page article for not only LJS, but for my career! I had no idea that I was going to be on the front page until the morning the newspaper came out. This accomplishment was such a refreshing feeling of moving forward in my career.

National Guard​
After a two-hour long interview, a National Guard retiree ceremony and an after party, I am so proud of how this article came out. I actually had four stories in this newspaper as my morning began with a police briefing with two blotters, a 4th of July story and this feature piece.

My second story for the Ground Zero magazine was a profile on the lead actor. This story ended up being the feature story on the front page of the magazine!
Lincoln Air Show​
As the semester began, my quantity of articles decreased as I moved from being a full-time reporter to only part-time. However, that didn't stop me from getting my name on the front page!

Public Records Laws​
For this article, I was asked to write a piece that would be placed next to our courts reporter piece regarding public records. I found the assignment challenging at first as I had little knowledge in how the policies worked. However, I rose to the challenge as I continued to ask questions and complete thorough research to become well informed. Even the editorial board mentioned my story!
